New server 6 10 2009

We moved again to a faster server a few days ago, but you may have noticed that we have had some speed/lag issues.

This was due to the database file, and it is being rebuilt right now, and the speed should come back.

We may be up and down some, as I hardly notice anyone on right now.
You can also see at the very top of the window a message.
ATTENTION: This site will be going down shortly for maintenance; we apologize for the inconvenience and will return online shortly.

They are still ironing out the bugs.
I just noticed the whole site was a white page with no text, no matter if I went to the home page or the forum listings page which if the one I keep bookmarked.

Anyone else notice that too?

That happened to me a few times yesterday. Hope you can get it all ironed out. Thanks for all the hard work, and a great forum. Adam.

Site still has trouble, I am getting the white blank page and slow loads.

Tech will be diving into it on Monday.
Limited staff to work on issues over the weekend.

They found the problem.
Forums use two parts.
1. The software that runs the forum.
2. The database that contains all the post/threads since day one.

Turns out the server the database was on was a wee bit small.
Our database is HUGE since we have been active since May of 2002.

Database will have much more room to grow shortly, hopefully within thirty minutes.

What I always do on any forum, and I mean others besides here, is to copy my post.
You never know when a server might flake out.

It seems to be running better right now, hopefully the bugs are getting worked out

Hey Corey,

I've been coping posts and all but recently I get communication errors frequently!!! Between IE8, safari on my computer and on my government controlled-big brother-computers at work I get it all the time. This last couple of days it's been bad.

Here's what happens with Safari:

"Safari can’t open the page “https://www.yotatech.com/visitormessage.php?do=message”. The error was: “unknown error” (CFURLErrorDomain:302) Please choose Report Bugs to Apple from the Help menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message."

I see now...it's been better today than it has been in the past few. I tell ya I never really noticed how much I'm on this site till it quits working right...No wonder I don't get anything done at work...

It is not over yet.
They have lots of upgrades going on, so they have more work to do still on this server.

It could be a few days now before we are up 100%.
One of the main guys who works on the servers was on vacation last week too, so they are limited.

No ETA on a 100% fix as of yet.

I was informed the server has been worked on and the database should be good.

I can search again and hit the "New posts" feature.
Is it good to go for everyone else, or are you still seeing issues?

I will leave the text up at the top of every page for awhile to make sure all is good.

Still laggy for me, but no error messages.
I let them know I am seeing lag.

Was completely unable to get on as of 15mins ago.

Loaded fast this time - not a huge lag for me yet.
New Posts seems to be working as well, haven't tried search yet.

She's super fast for me now.
As long as it stays up this looks to be a good improvement.
