Looking for a few good Mods (2009 Edition)

You raise a good point harleyman on the appearance of favoritism issue... not sure just how much it was a part of the mass migration a while back, I was not yet a mod at the time, but it is one of the issues we are considering as part of the veting process...
Team Obama ain't got nuthin' on us when it comes to that lol...
as for who is and is not a candidate everyone who steps up and offers is in the running until the final decisions are made...

Wabbit, you made a great post.... and it would be welcomed back...
(But if you want to take it down that is cool too) I was just saying we can agree to disagree on that issue.
The staff is doing some good talking behind the scenes as to pro's and cons for those nominated. (Just like they did for me and all the other mods on here)
Please know that if you are NOT chosen, we did very carefully look at what we needed and picked the best candidates. So I am hoping the teaming masses don't get upset if we don;t pick a popular candidate.... It's hard enough Modding. We don;t have all the time to explain the details of our choices, but we (I) will try....

I agree with the idea that newer members may see the "Staff" under our names and instantly respect what we say more.
But I assure you, being a mod doesn't change the fact that I talk out of my
sometimes.
As Molly said, part of being a mod is watching out for each other and having to give eachother a heads up if we pull a stupid.
I don't see there being a problem with a mod who also runs a Toyota business.
I would think it would become obvious whether they were using their status here to promote said business.
Maybe we just say that if you are a mod, you can't advertise in your sig or anywhere that might associate your business with being a mod.
Not sure if that's even applicable but we could consider something like that if need be.
I agree with the others,
Fink

I don't ever see you abusing the "power" of a mod to promote your business.
I mean your company is called WabFab...who can compete with that??

Personally I do not have a problem with a mod being associated with Toyota or Toyota parts.
I do not think it would be fair though to pull the info from a sig file.
That info has been in sigs since the creation of this place, so it does not bother me.
Here is another example, a very popular Toyota forum is owned and run by Shannon who works at a Toyota dealership selling parts online.
Being the head honcho at an organization does not influence me at all to want to pick his store over any other.
I order from a store that I feel comfortable with, or has the best deal/service going with it.
