Ok, this is pretty stupid but how the heck do you replace the wipers on a '90 4runner? The wiper arm doesn't have a hook to hook into the new wiper. Instead, it has two screws.

 

you need the adapter for the new wipers. the auto store should have the adapter.

Edit: What about putting a later style wiper arm on for us guys with the early style. Will it fit? I hate the adapter and screws. I lost two screws and have been thinking of welding the adapters to the arms.

It took a while, but I was able to hunt down j-hooks for my front wipers, still looking for one for the rear, though. They seem pretty hard to find. Actually, I used a rear j-hook my passenger side wiper, so actually, I'm looking for another front style j-hook so I can put the rear one where it belongs.
