will an 83 tranny fit in my 82 ????
I just boubgt an 82 sr5 and 5th gear is out of it. i have found an 83 with a good transmission im wondering if it is going to be a straight swap

It should be as long as the engines are both 22Rs. The best way to make sure before you commit to work, is to make a template making sure that the bolt holes will match up.

Yes, just make sure it is an L series transmission..about 21" long. Sometimes people will have swapped w series trans which are longer, 25" ..
