What size lift do I have?
Hey guys, Ive been googling and reading through forums. I am pretty new to lifted vehicles. Actually very new, this is my first.
Anyway, I bought an 85 4runner that already had a lift and 35's. After doing some research it seems to be a shackle lift. One leaf spring is blown, the struts are way too big and dont allow for any upward movement. All of this is in the front. Ive been wheeling with it a few times and its pretty rough and I cant imagine it being good for the vehicle. I am looking into a getting a cheap lift kit from a big box store. (Dont flame me. I already have an 03 wrx that I throw money at for rallying. Built engine, etc.) This truck is the best $1800 Ive ever spent and has only needed a fuel pump and an alternator.
I have a camping trip coming up next weekend with the guys and I want the rig ready so I can laugh at their pretty 2016 trucks (at least when were wheeling).
Ive taken a few rough measurements.
Shackles length. Center of bolt to center of bolt.
Front: 6.5" Rear: 5 1/8"
From frame to axle
Front (bump stop on axle to frame): 11" Rear:15.5"
From ground to top of wheel well
Front: 42.5" Rear: 40"
From top of tire to top of wheel well
Front: 10" Rear: 6 3/4"
I would really like to keep this ride height, it has served well this far. Any info, or advise (aside from not getting a cheap lift) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Guys!

When I had my straight axle truck, I had a three inch lift with 33's.
I would look into old man emu springs and shocks, heard good things about ride quality and flex.
Google search yotatech best lift or best straight axle lift for info.
Don't skimp on suspension, it will make your rig more capable and comfortable, a payoff you will enjoy every ride.
