What should I do before I swap my 22re

Hello, I am kinda new here but have been lurking for a while. My 94 pickup currently has 205k miles on it and its slowly dieing. A friend of mine pulled a 22re motor, trans, and transfer case out of I believe an 87 4 runner with 100k miles. Ill be able to take all this off of his hands for 300 bucks but I am wondering what I should do while it is out in terms of longevity and overall maintenance. I will be changing the oil and fuel filters as well as the thermostat because that is all convenient, easy, and cheap. I will also be installing a new clutch because it will be the best time to freshen that up. My main concerns are the water and oil pump, the headgasket and other various seals. I was thinking about buying the engnbldr master rebuild kit but did not want to spend the money on the pistons, rings, and bearings that I would not be able to use without going to the machine shop. So now I will try to summarize up my questions.

1.) Should I worry about the oil pump? The water pump is pretty easy and cheap so I will do that but how bad do you think the pump would be?

2.) Is there any way possible to use a new set of pistons without getting the block machined? Would re-honing it take care of everything?

3.) Should I really worry about the gaskets/seals? The block has sat for a bit but if the seals look good should I be ok?

4.) Oh and also, the motor has a big cam and headers on it, which is a nice addition for 300 bucks but, the headers do not look like they will bolt up to my stock system, what would I need to make it work?

Thanks
Jeremy

Replace the timing chain while its out, specifically with a kit that has the steel chain guide instead of the plastic.

I forgot to add that that was a plan of mine as well, thanks for reminding me though.
