Like the other people said, just dont do anything stupid

also, make sure there is a rig that wont get stuck with you

if your just starting out, its more important to make sure someone your with wont get stuck and has stuff to pull you out

also, watch out for trees... trees hurt

Take what you need to feel comfortable, don't do anything you don't feel comfortable doing, bring a buddy, trust your instincts and dear God use common sense.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions. I went out wheeling yesterday but I didn't take my rig. I road in a buddys Tacoma. We just got about a foot of rain this week and I didn't think I could make it where they wanted to go. Also I had never seen the area to I wanted to scout it from someone else's rig.

After getting back I think I could have done a lot of what we did, so next time I will bring my truck.
For this trip i volunteered to be spotter and guy that goes into the deep puddles to hook up recovery gear
The only thing I forgot to mention about my truck is that the shocks are shot and I have a bearing going bad in the transmission. After I get these two problems fixed I will be hitting the trail.
If there is anyone in the NW what is selling a working 5 speed trans for my truck let me know.
Here are some of the pics from the trip.
Airing down

First truck stuck of the day, he had engine size boulders behind both front tires.

Jeep pulling him out

Jeep owner locked out of rig after recovery

A deep rut w/ a 5ft vertical wall at the end

Rain stopped and the sun showed up

small "stream crossing"

Group poser pic

trail hidden by recent rain fall

Funny pic, don't be offended

Nice county.
OK! I know I’m showing my age (50) but how do you put pictures in your postings?

looks like a good trip. i went out and played in some dirt in my room mate's stock 3.0 5spd (my 4runner's dead right now). after getting to play with a stock 4runner (mine's not stock) i was really impressed at what i was able to do. all i took was some gas, two buddies, spare tire and a tow strap. worked out really well. everyone knows it but i'll say it anyway: these trucks are the ****.
