What do you think of these cracks in the edge of the tires?

I'm not a tire pro by ANY stretch, but, having said that, I'd replace them.
I don't think those are recaps, but I would think those cracks are an indication the tread is going to come off at some point, or worse, a section of it will. The cracks are right where the tread part of the tire meets the main part of the tire's "carcass". The part the the belts are attached to. Most likely in a corner.
Or at the least, the cracks indicate the tires' rubber is getting old and brittle. Maybe start leaking air at first. Brittle tire rubber is not a good thing in the things the trucks weight sits on, more in the corners.
At the very least, I would switch those to the back until you can afford to replace all 4 of them. If the fronts are old and brittle, the backs can't be far behind, so to speak.
Having gone through all that babbling, if they're well within their date of use, or whatever the date code is called, could it be you got defective ones from the manufacterer?
If they're still under warranty, just get them replaced. You have to pay a small amount for the current tread wear, which DOES look very minor, but it's better than paying for whole new tires. MUCH better than paying for getting the truck repaired after a failure, yes?
Again, I am not a tire kinda guy. Those cracks may mean absolutely nothing. I doubt it, though. Like I said, the tire may start developing air leaks out of them. At the least, a PITA to have to keep up with, at most, you wind up with a flat. Again, a PITA to deal with, especially on your way home on a cold night after a long day's work, no?
Good luck, and keep us appraised (big word of the day
) of how things go!
Pat☺

I’d go ask Costco what they think. If you had said they were 20 yrs old, i would say absolutely replace them but at 6 years, it wouldn’t concern me that much. They simply don’t make rubber like they used to. Your call. Who knows, maybe there was a recall on that lot or something.
