what is this?

i found this while replacing the bench seat with celica seats i junkyarded (awesome), it was under the bench seat, would be between the two bucket seats now. the carpet was cut out for it. there was a wire to the fuse box run up to it but it wasn't connected. any idea what this is? is it a stock part?? i can't figure it out.

thanks for checking it out. i am perplexed.....

CIA tracking bug. They're on to you! Really, I don't know. What year model is your truck?

lol! it's a 1987. there is a hole in the black plastic casing so the screw can apparently be adjusted. but what it does, i do not know. maybe part of an alarm system??? there's a lot of weird wiring stuff i'm discovering the deeper i get into this thing.....

The little red light makes me think of a security system. Look the part over good. Most factory electronic components have Toyota and part number on them somewhere. What in the world is that thing? Was it where you could see it from the seat? Did it maybe have a knob on it at one time? If it did, it could be a remote switch to control power to a stereo amp maybe.

I have been into numerous trucks and have never seen anything like that. I feel it is an aftermarket piece for what ever it was for.

Looks like an alarm shock sensor.
