Weber 38 Dgas

Weber 38 Dgas
Alright so I have a 86 22r engibe with the weber 38 DGAS carb and mine has a terrible vacuum leak. Therefor I am in the market for an after market adaptor plate as I've heard on multiple accounts that the redline one that comes with the carb is total junk and that is the one that is on my engine. Any input is greatly appreciated. I have searched the forums and it seems that summit racing and lceperformance are my best bets but I'm always open to 2nd opinions.

Dave is right, you bolt up the spiral spacer, you will be ten times happier.
It seals correct and no leaking, it also gets the carb to sit up a inch higher.
Also going to give you some extra power. It Itemizes the fuel and air as it goes into the motor, it will give you better response all around and you will notice it right away.
By far one of the best things that you can do to help out with the carb.
The standard adapter that comes with the Webers leaks no matter what you do.

Didn't notice until a second look but you're name is LCE performance, something seems a little fishy like you and Dave working together. But in all honesty I will be buying your spiral adaptor plate because the stock one is just sooo damn good at leaking.

Nope Dave and I aren't working together, Im with LC and Iam just going through here lending some help on anything that I can come across.
Doesn't hurt to go around helping people and spread the knowledge

Yeah I took a close look at the spiral adaptor plate after I first posted this and I've gotta say it should be the one that is included with the weber carbs. Over 300 bucks for a performance carb with an adaptor plate that I could have done a better job at in high school machine shop. Hell a 7 grader with some patience could do better if they knew how to operate a mill.

I agree that it should come with it, we do have the option of the carb kit for the stock manifold. This is a kit that we put together, it comes with the 32/36 carb, LCE Spiral Spacer, all the linkage that you need, air filter, and it also comes with the fuel pressure regulator and gauge.
The reason we have one that way is to make it less stressful, and the option for a all in one package.
With the Webers, we highly recommend that you run a fuel pressure regulator.
You want to run these at 2.5 to 3lbs. For the optimal performance of the Weber carb.
And I agree that with the weber adapter that comes with it from them.
It is a nightmare from the get go with that one, it seems to leak no matter what you do.
Here is the link for the whole pack if you would like to check it out.

Nah, I wish I worked for LCE. Maybe then I could get parts a lot cheaper!! But last summer I did introduce the idea to Wes over at LCE of selling a complete desmog kit instead of just the individual plates. I've used a lot of LCE parts on my engine and although I haven't cranked it yet since it's been rebuilt, I can tell you that everything fits and bolts up properly. I rebuilt my friend's 22R a couple years ago with a bunch of LCE parts and it runs great! The prices can be a little steep, but you are getting quality parts and they look damn good under the hood. I just wish that they would develop a better 32/36 throttle linkage kit

Dave,
I do remember when you gave the idea to Wes.
Your input helped us get the whole kit together, and it does make it cheaper than getting all the block plates by themselves
Just in case you haven't seen it Dave here is the link to the Emissions Block Plate Kit.
