Valve Cover switch question

Long story short, I am planning on painting an extra valve cover I have from a 1991 22re and I just want to make sure it will fit on my celica 22re (81-85). Ty!

Wink

Just what year Celica do you have the older ones used a more rounded valve cover on the top while the newer ones use a more square looking one .

Yes it should fit but just look at the both of them and compare some of the holes for mounting all the emission goodies and brackets might not be in the same places.

The important places like the mounting studs and the mating surfaces for the gaskets will be the same. For what it is worth all these engines 22R family use the same valve cover gaskets.

I would replace the gaskets and the 1/2 moon pieces when doing the swap and do not over tighten the nuts it makes a racket and you will think it is about to blow up.

If you have not checked out Celica-GTS.com it is a great third Gen Celica site
