Question valve adjustment for T100 do I need it?

I have a 97 T100 with 161,000mi looking to repalce the intake and valve cover gaskets. Is there a valve adjustment to be done while I have all this stuff apart? If so where do I find the info to do this? thanks to anyone who can help!

Yes. The valves need adjusted every 60K miles.

Yes while it says the valves should be adjusted I wonder how many unless the rockers are loosened or removed ever do it.

If you need to replace the valve cover gaskets it is a good time.

A feeler gauge of the correct sizes and you should already have what you need

Thanks again I don't notice any noise from the valves, but since I'm tearing so much off to replace the gaskets its worth checking valves for the adjustments it may need. Thanks again for the help. I have never had to work on my Toyotas much so just making sure I do it correctly

Wrong engine. And you wouldn't adjust the valves with the rockers loosened or removed in any case.

Not too complicated to check the clearances with feeler gauges. But if they need adjusted, then it gets complicated in a hurry. You'll not only need special tools, you'll also need different sized replacement shims to make any clearance adjustments. IOW it's a PITA!

Don't need any special tools if you can pull 2 crank shafts.

YMMV.
