Useless OEM Parts on/under the Hood?
What are a few things i could take out/off my stock 1990 toyota hilix pickup to free up space? Keep in mind I know everything on the vehicle has an essential function, but what are some things most people could live without? I work six days a week but i'm trying to clean up space and get it ready for a full clean/rust removal detail.

You do not give near enough information. What engine? What are the emissions laws in your locality? Why do you feel it's necessary to free up the space?
I suppose some people could live without the engine if they were at the top of a hill and only wanted to get to the bottom one time.
You are not getting responses because the way you framed the question has no reasonable response, IMHO.

ask google. or ask a better question? how rusty is it. what volume of space do you need?
whats the plan?
do a battery/intake swap. cleans it up alot.
remove efi and add carb. = more space.
lose the ifs. just. throw it right in the dumpster.

There are very few options to remove stuff under the hood. If you have emissions/visual inspections in your state then you need to make sure everything you need to pass is there. Intake swap is the most popular to "clean it up". Mild gains also.
But mostly just slowly clean it up. Replace your vacuums lines. Pull and paint your valve cover. Ect... Just cleaning parts goes along way towards making it look better. Also helps you familiarize yourself with the engine bay.
If no emission you can pull your egr. Not any performance increase and not much clean up but some do it. Other than that if it runs good then wheel it and spend your money on lockers or maybe an exhaust upgrade, rock sliders ect... Building the motors for power generally doesn't net a lot of results. Usually just 2 1/4" cat back exhaust seems to net some good power for a 22re. And if your feeling froggy or need to do a head gasket then put a cam in it while your at it. Maybe try some flame thrower injectors. Better low end power and throttle response.
