Underside Surface Rust

I have a 1998 T100. There isnt any rust on the truck, but on the underside, the fron suspension, rear axel, leafs, etc. Have slight surface rust. Some of the black paint is still there, but most has flaked off. Anyone know of any good products for rubbing the rust off to get to the bare metal? I'm going to use flat black spray paint on the bottom, matched to the frame color.

I use fluid film. I've been buying the spray cans but will buy from this link next time.

I like the fluid film becasue there is no prep work. You just spray it on. It really does bond to the metal. I really like this product and use it to coat the underside of truck every year. IMHO trying to scrape off the rust and seal it up is a losing battle. This is the ticket for your concern. It stops rust.

Correct, you don't want to paint over the Fluid Film. No way paint would stick after using it.

I personally don't think paint is the answer for rust on chassis and choose Fluid Flim as an alternative to painting. Fluid Film is kinda like thick/sticky WD-40

Thanks for clarification.
