I Have A 88' Toyota pick up and it is stock on 4x4 and the gears feel like they are stuck and trucks strugles to move forwards or back wards plz help got to go to school tom.

 

differential?? any noises??? might want to catch the buss!!!! need to trouble shoot! is the parking brake on?

 

Broken teeth on the gears? Time to pull the 3rd and find out! Thats what i would do. Process of elimination

 

Get the wheels off the ground and spin them by hand. Try this in gear and out, in 4WD and out, hubs locked and not.

Try to determine what is binding and why.

 

Hey guys I'm having this problem again....
last time I drain the differentials fluid at night check rear differential front one and everything seemed fine.....
Took my uncles z06 to school the next mornin and when I came back home my truck was gone, my uncle took it and two dirt bikes to Gorman.
I called him told him the 4x4 wasn't working he answers me with, "what aRe you talking about it just got me out of some mud pit....
Took my 4 runner out and joined him.... :o
And all was good....

But itts back again same problem but on my runner this time.....
When I put it in 4x4 and the front wheel are engaged. It bogs down and I can't shift out off high or low 4 back to high 2....
Nd it didn't doo it till know that it got cold and I installed the rancho lift....
