Transmission Cooler Lines

Searched far and wide on the internet for some sort of tip on this; where the transmission cooler lines enter the transmission there are two nuts at each fitting, one is a 14mm and the other a bit larger, perhaps 17mm. If I attempt to turn the 14 mm nut which I believe stays on the transmission cooler line, it turns but also twists the brass line at the same time. If I attempt to turn the 17mm nut, it turns but twists the entire assembly as well. If I use two wrenches and hold the 14mm nut in place while attempting to turn the 17mm nut... I am unable to turn anything. Out of work right now or else I would just ruin the old line and buy a new one.
