hey guys got an 86 pickup my truck is makin some noises sounds like a marble bouncing around around tranny or in the clutch a know my throw out bearing is out but what ever is going on it has started locking up on me and the truck will die when i let clutch out even when stick shift is in nuetral any ideas im not sure if its tranny or somethin else thanks

 

I have the same issue with the marble sound. That's the only way that I could describe it. Mine is still runing fine no shift issues how long did it take for yours to go out once you started hearing the noise? My trans has about 209,000 miles on it so I'm guessing rebuild.

 

I have 300000 on my truck and trany it started with my throw out bearing then couple months later started hearing weird noise around trans then couple months later it locked up talked to trany shop and he said its common for a bearing in trans to go out so im having them rebuild

 

I would drain trans oil and check for metal if i was you mine was loaded with metal flakes

 

I drained and replaced it just last Friday. Fluid had a few little metal flakes nothing major though and the fluid looked like it hadn't been changed I forever. I just got the truck a few months ago so still finding all the hidden treasures the previouse owner forgot to mention. How much is the trany shop charging for a rebuild if you don't mind saying?
