ok so I have a 91 Runner and I have had it for about three months. I have been haveing the intermitin problem with the transmission the o/d light starts blinking and when you come to a complete stop then take off its like it is stuck in secound gear and doesnt pick up very fast no matter how much gas you give it. I have and idea of what it is but want to see what others have in mind. I think it is one of two things. One it could be the shift soleniod or two it could be a wireing to the soleniod that is causing the problem. personall im hopeing for maby a wire but its kinda weird how it only happend some time and not all of the time which is why im asking. Thank you in advance for any advise my trans is an A340H. motor is a 3zve and A/T

 

it sounds like you have a short in the wiring so check that first
