I have been trying to find an automatic transmission for my 1990 SR5 truck (4X4) with no luck. There seems to be a lot more manual transmissions out there than automatics, so I might try to change mine over to manual. I have asked around and the interchange seems to be 85-94, but I have been told that 95's will work....so which is it...I'm confused..

then you need an r150 or r151 for a 4x4 app. the 151 is the same as the 150 with a lower first gear and gear drive tcase.

 

where are you located? i have a spare r150 and tcase in my shop

 

Your are looking for a r150. 89-95.

Or a r151 from a 4cly turbo. It has a lower first gear, but you will need the bell housing off of a r150 to make it work with the 3vze.

I think thats right. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
