Which Toyota do I have

OK, I have a real dumb question:

I have a 2000 Tacoma, Extra Cab, 2 Door, 4X4, V6 5VZFE 3.4 Liter Gas, Supercharged, TRD.

My question is; How do I tell which model I have ie: Pre Runner, DLX, SR5, Limited.

I always say its an SR5 and the parts I buy seem to fit, but just to give piece of mind i'd like to know for sure.

Thanks mucho for any info.

my guess would be either SR5 or Limited - but most trucks have a badge somewhere on the truck depicting this. in regards to buying parts, the trim package means nothing and all the parts will be the same unless it's something specific to that package. can't really think of anything that would apply in this case. if you really want to know which trim package your truck has, look up the differences between them - usually it's just bolt-on stuff like random chrome parts, flares, seats have more adjustments, etc etc. other than that, the trucks are all the same. you may also be able to look it up via your VIN#
good luck!

Its not a Pre Runner because you said its a 4x4. Pre Runners are 2wds on a 4x4 chassis. I'd also guess its a DLX because if it was an SR5, it would have badging on it saying so on the tailgate (unless a previous owner removed it)

In my experience, SR5 denotes a higher trim package. So if your rig gas power windows and locks, sunroof, etc, it's probably the SR5 package.

yes, the SR5 used to be the higher trim package for the older vehicles - like all pre-2000 or something like that. Around late 1990s, they started doing the "Limited" package and it has more bells and whistles. Now they have even more trim packages! Limited might have stuff like power everything including mirrors, color matched or chromed body parts like fender flares door handles bumper covers etc. probably has some interior upgrades too.

Thanks guys, since my truck has power windows, locks, anti thief, moon roof and sliding back window I agree it must be the SR5 package. I really do love this truck. I have an '87 also that I am debating on replacing the motor with an LS and automatic or a V6. That truck has zero badging so I am thinking it is a base model. Probability what they called a leader on the car lot, you know the one that they advertise as "Only one at this price". I paid $5000 for it back in early '89, had 45K miles and looked brand new. Now I'm at 325000 miles go off road quite often and the only thing that I have had to replace is the battery and fuel pump. It's carbureted so no biggie.
