torsion bar bolt issues

whatsup guys, so im a noob. ive been stalking this forum for about 2months already. thats when i got my yota. i found out that the 4runner that i have has downey torsion bars and i went to crank them up last night. the driver side measured about a half an inch lower than the passenger side, and they maybe already cranked. i measured about 14" from the top of the 15" rim to the lip of the bolted on fender flare. well the real kicker is, im guessing the passenger side is cranked less cuz there was no lock nut on that side but there is on the driver side. and the driver side bolt sticks out a few threads but the passenger side is actually sunken into the bolt someways. i called downey and they said i dont even need a locknut? and that its not about how far the bolt sticks out the top of the nut, it just depends on the distance from the wheel to the fender.

please help. is that nut gunna come flying off sometime? what pitch and thread is that bad boy if i do need to put a lock nut on?

thanks.
mannyb.
