Timing Belt

I just bought a 1988 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 3.0L 4x4. It has a bad timing belt. Does anyone have a clue to the easiest way to change it??

Remove stuff that's in the way, remove bad belt, put on new belt, re-install previously mentioned parts. Easiest way.

You may want to put on a new water pump, and replace crank seal too.

Done. Your welcome.

Here is a good write up on another blog site. I used this for my 2003 Tacoma. Very extensive procedure. I wouldn't do it unless you're very comfortable with a lot of R&R.

Good luck
