Threaded holes in front crossmember?
I just took the front valance (below the bumper) off of my '91 in preparation for a lot of front end work and bigger tires. I noticed the two threaded holes at either end of the front crossmember-what are they for? Would this be a good place to bolt a winch bumper or recovery rings to? Anybody know the size/thread?

I don't know exactly what they're for. But I wouldn't recommend using them as winch mounting points. I tried that. Worked well to a point. Ended up pulling the welded-in nuts through the front of the crossmember eventually. It's not quite as thick as the frame metal. Of course I wasn't able to use all 4 of them to mount my winch at the time(just the 2 in the middle). Which may have worked a little better.
