Dude, you might have just cost me $150 with that single post.

Lol. I got a line on a front DTT on the cheap and never knew you could just flip them.

so basically just in case I understand this you can basically take a 913A318 and "flip it" and turn it into a 913A348 ?

I know that detroits are stronger than any lunchbox locker hands down, and an lsd is good for the street, but it still doesn't compare to a locker. Lockers are fine on the street as long as you know how your truck will react to different amounts of throttle around corners, once you get that figured out it will drive and feel the same as the truetrac. I have heard lots of people complain about the truetracs though, because it takes a lot to get the other wheel to spin. I don't have any experience with it but i have heard of people having to use the parking brake to provide some resistance to get the wheel with less traction to spin.

That sounds about right.I bet there's quite a few running rear TT's in a front app and vice-versa. So, you never know....that front TT may turn out to be a rear application unit and you don't have to do anything.

Yes, TT in the rear are a great option for the "once a month wheeler". Yes, there can be issues getting the TT to engage HOWEVER if you've always have forward movement it will always engage, quiet and smoothly. The problem happens where you are at a dead stop and try to go again. I have sucessfully(all you PNWr's shut yers mouths) used my TT on many moderate/difficult trails with little issues. BE ADVISED, you will need to be proficent in using your brakes to help bias the drive torque.

Oh, Zuk, that is an interesting read. I had no idea you could flip it. Hmmm...I'd like to take mine apart and see how it's holding up to my abuse.
