The in line filter on the passanger side of the motor, does the inlet or 'larger end' face forward? I know dumb, just changed mine and now second guessing myself.
22RE motor, belive the same as 20R and all 22r styles

 

Big flared end faces the front of the truck. If you do a Google image search for "22re fuel filter" the second photo shows it really well. Good luck!
