Steering issues

Hello all, new to the site and looking forward to becoming knowledgable with my 4Runner. I'm currently having 2 issues, and I don't know if they would relate to each other. I have an automatic 94 4Runner 4wd. 1) the truck is idling around 500 rpm and is on the brink of dying constantly. At cruising, there are no issues. 2) the steering is very hard to turn at low speeds. If the truck has been sitting for a while, and I jump in it and go, it is will normally work like it should. It then gets to where it is hard to turn it seems once the truck has ran for a little bit. Fluid level is good. Curious to know if they could be related issues or not. Thanks all!

Mike

Power steering belt good and tight not slipping

Just what engine in any case it does seem to be idling on the slow side

Replace the power steering hoses; they are probably sucking shut. Check for trouble codes for the idling issue.
