How do I look for a short in my steering column wiring for a 2003 tundra?

 

You don`t until you have figured out just what circuit your working on.

So is it the headlights?

turn signals/hazards?

horn?

wipers ?

ignition switch ?

then you find the schematic get the color or colors of the wires your looking for .

Break out the meter and start checking.

Most shorts are at the load .

some can be caused by physical damage.

switches may short but most times just wear out so are no longer able to complete the circuit.
