Snow wheeling

Got stuck. 88 4runner, good tires.
Moved off the crown of a snow-packed PA state forest road to stop and cut firewood. Figured the weight of the wood over the rear would help me breeze out. Unfortunately, I could not overcome the ridge of icy, packed snow on the edge of the road crown, especially at the angle I was sitting on the shoulder. Even with some weight, the open diffs had me sliding back and forth, inching my way to a deeper swale and a night in the truck with only a bag of granola. I remembered reading scant references to rockcrawlers applying their e-brakes as a poor-man's diff lock. I pulled out the e-brake half a dozen clicks, put it in 4low, and powered on out. I searched many threads for this already but found only scant references. Just sharing my experience. The rear will get a locker this year.

might be a good idea to keep some goodies in your vehicle for those unexpected camping trips.

It seems most of mine are on the Turnpike.

Your prescription is a winch and an ARB locker suppository. (In the rear)

Aaaaannd firewood from a state forest? I'm pretty sure that is not what the congress means by annual allowable cut.
