I know I've brought up the idea of a Glossary section.

I'll see what I can do.

It would eliminate so many noob issues! lol
And a glossary section with links to corresponding stickies would be pretty bomb as far as basic search/learning tool goes.

Yes,I might have over 200 post, but if I never get into heavy mods, how would I know? I don't off road my Runner...at all. I don't tear it apart because Im bored or want to experiment with some sensless project. I'm here to learn more knowledge of my Yota DD to keep it my DD. I'm also here to pass along my experiences to those who need that little bit of help.
Not all of us have a need or a reason to swap a factory axle for a solid axle. If my front axle(s) ever go bad,They're getting replaced with OEM parts. Or the next available thing.
I will begin to throw the rocks at myself immediatly
Actually dutch an SAS is an OEM factory parts swap... up until 1986 the 4wds had solid front axles on leaf springs, in 86 Toyota switched to the double A-arm torsion bar set up which provides a smoother ride but much less suspension flex... because (until 1997 anyway) many of the diesel trucks sold outside NA still had solid axles the mounting points [frame reinforcements] are still there on 86-95 trucks/runners (the frames are the same) making installing an SFA a relatively simple job.
Many people do this mod so the can throw rocks at their trucks (when offroading)

Sometimes that solid axle is referred to as a "live axle".

IMO the fact that you have 200 posts should mean that you know how to SEARCH by now for things as common as SAS, not necessarily that having 200 posts means you should know what SAS means.

And what was already posted is exactly correct. My solid axle is factory oem Toyota, which is what most people swap into their vehicles (although mine came from the factory with it)

Actually folks if you typed in SAS in the search box every single use of the phrase would come up including this one and you'd have to wade through all of them till you found an explanation or were finally able to figure it out for yourself.

It was a fair question and illustrates a problem we will be addressing in the future when we add a "Glossary" sticky. It is one of the projects the staff are working on for you.

OK I didnt read most of the replys but I am wondering why, with 250 posts, you didnt think to search for this one. You see it EVERYHWERE. And you have been here long enough to know that everyone will tell you to search.

TO MOD: Is there an infraction for ignorance?

How come YOU didnt search?

And for those of you that want a glossary. I dont care if its not on Yotatech this thing is a beast. One of the best things I have ever read as far as Toyota trucks go. I just try to link everyone to the Toyota Bile/FAQ on Pirate.
