Searched but nothing found on two clutch questions

Does the pilot bearing install flush with back of the crank, or does it go in further? machine pulled the old one out so i did not get a look at it? Second question, what are the matchmarks the FSM states to line up the clutch and f/w? any help would be appreciated, trying to stick my newly rebuilt engine today. thx.

Flush is good. That's how I've always done it. The crank may be machined internally with a step to prevent it going in to far, but I don't know. Check it with a flashlight.

It should be just beyond flush. You'll see a beveled lip machined into the crank.
