reverse lights out

reverse lights out

I have a 91 4 runner and i recently replaced the clutch ,and after I got done putting everything back in my reverse lights don't work I made sure everything is hooked up right. I also changed the fuse and bulbs does anyone have an idea of what it could be?

I would recheck the connect at the backup light switch on the transmission
. When I did mine it looked fully seated but wasn't.

Yea I checked it multiple times and made sure it had good connection but its still not working for some reason, I was thinking of replacing the switch to see if thats it.

If you don`t have a multimeter now is the time to buy one!!

Simple to check the switch put the transmission in reverse see if you have continuity across the pins on the switch.

This is where having a meter with the audible continuity signal maker it nice

You can also check for voltage coming into the switch.

in the course of doing the clutch is it possible the plug could have got dirt in or the pins could have got bent??
