Requirements for an A/C pump

I am looking at replacing my ac compressor, my first ever ac repair. I am looking at buying(instead of borrowing) an ac vacuum pump. But I have no idea what constitutes a decent vacuum. Any help?

Thanks,
Todd

In this day even the best of the manufactures are having them built in China .

The main difference is the time it takes to pull a vacuum . The more CFM the faster it will pull a Vacuum

Being that vehicles have smaller systems compared to commercial systems most all will work for your use

Compare the specs of a few your looking at.

Welcome to YotaTech!

Member Scope103 made a great write-up for a/c compressor replacement: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-r134a-284801/

Like Wyoming9 said, you should be fine with just about any vacuum pump. For reference, the Harbor Freight vacuum pumps are 2.5 CFM and 3.0 CFM.
