Rear Spring Shackles and Leafs

I have used the search and came up empty so thought I would put it in this category as I am a newb! I have a set of superlift 4 inch lift leaf springs for my 1993 pick up extra cab. I have only a frame to work with so I can't go by what was already there! It was stripped when I got it. When installing the springs with my awesome 4crawler stock length shackles, the shackles seem to be angled forward quite a bit. I know its not the shackles, so I am wondering if the spring has changed the overall mounting distance. I also don't know if this is normal? Any help would be perfect.

measure the length along the spring, not across and it should be around 51" if there 47-48" there off a 86-88 and wont work..if they are 51" it might be cuz theres no weight on them..

Most likely unloaded your shackle will be angled forward. when it compresses it will relax push out and angle back.if it is lees then a 45* angle forward you are okay... this is an approximate of what your shackle will look like (angle wise)

As usual guys, your quick responses are always appreciated. I will do a measurement and see where I am at. And it is certainly unloaded as it is a bare frame. I will update when I have the info. Thanks again

I measured it and along the spring is indeed around 51". I guess it will straighten out once there is a load on it. It does sit around 45 degrees forward angle. Thanks again guys.
