I need some clearance for some 285 kumho's that I put on. I don't know anything about lift kits and was told this was the place to find out. Help please!

 

Help. I want to put 3" lift on my 04 tacoma access cab v6 trd. I don't know where to start. Any advice would be very appreciated.

First off, welcome. DJ's right - a quick search for "3" lift tacoma" or similar will yeild a lot of good results that will help you make an informed decision. A lot of it depends on what kind of money you have, what you're doing with your truck, etc. Search it up, and get to reading. You will walk away thankful that you did, because not only will you know what you're looking for, you will be educated about it, too. Good luck!

There are a variety of options. Your front suspension is the same as the 3rd generation 4Runner. Check out that forum on here for more info.

Do NOT use blocks in the back. You'll end up with broken springs. Either add-a-leaf (AAL) or a new, rearched spring pack. Deaver and Alcan are really good.

285/75-16 = 33x11.50 right?

One of our TTORA guys has a 99 running 33x10.50 with about 2.5" suspension lift + 1" body lift, so I think you might rub a little with only 3", but I don't know for sure.

What wheels? How much backspacing?

First, a tip... instead of starting multiple threads about pretty much the same question, start one thread if and only if you have attempted to find your answers by searching first. All three of your threads could be answered by five minutes of quality time with the search button. That will make people more likely to help you and your questions easier to stomach for those who have already heard these questions 14 thousand times.

As to your question, Tacoma's vary from truck to truck, but odds are good you are going to experience some rubbing onroad with 3" and 33's and likely A LOT of rubbing off road. It will depend upon a lot of things, like wheel offset, driving style, terrain, etc. but if you want tires that will fit properly, 32's or 265/75's are a better sure bet for just 3" of lift. Sure you can put 33's on there, but what good are they if they limit your flex even more than the IFS already does and if they rub if you look at them wrong.

Again, this has been covered a zillion times already... hint... hint...

I was told to expect these kind of responses. Sorry guys. I don't ever use these message board things. Kind of figuring it out as I go along. I just got this price quote from a place in Vancouver called North Shore Offroad. 'Revtek 3" lift system with 2 x ProComp rear shocks (KITTAC3A-REV) : 659.00 ' Does that sound like a good price? I HATE being clueless like this. Thanks for your patience and help.
