Question on 3.0 to 3.4 swap

I'm a long time bronco man new to the toy world and this site but I have been reading your threads and learning a lot. I'm impressed with these yotas frames and suspension and I like the removable top like my Bronco so I bought my first time driver daughter an 89 4runner with the manual trans and 3 slow motor and I'm wanting to put a complete 3.4 with auto trans in it. I've read the posts on installing the motor only but like I stated I would like to put the whole drive line in. I also want to go with the latest year I can because I'll buy a salvage rollover for my parts so I'll have most anything I need. If anyone can help let me know. The information I get here and my other research is going to determine if I'll keep this one and do the swap because I'll like the power I'll have or I'll sell this one and get an 84/85 straight axle 22 4 banger setup. I've already got a 22r I just finished rebuilding and a 22re in the shed. any and all help is much appreciated.

Thanks!! That link will be great when I get to that stage but first I need to know if I can pull out my drive train slide in the new and have the drive shafts line up and are they the same lengths and will the shifters go through the floor? Also what is the latest year 4runner ( I say 4runner because I read that's my best bet to use a 4runner instead of a different style truck to be most compatible) I can go with without rebuilding the whole truck. Those are going to be my determining factors. If that's a go then so am I.

Yes, lots of reading. I read for months and months before even attempting it. Have everything laid out. My first one went incredibly smoothly, second one was a little harder since I had to trace down a demon inside a wire. Its not that hard of a swap if you have everything planned out and everything you need in front of you. Good luck.
