primary differences between '00 and '01 TRD TACO?

So i've been looking around for quite a while for a the right tacoma, and i'm trying to narrow things down. From what I've gathered the only real differences between the 2000 and 2001 are cosmetic. I.E. Grill and interior trim. I'm referring to SR5 TRD X-Cab trucks, so If anyone could let me know if there are any other major differences that would be great. I wasn't able to scare up any thing with the search...

there is a frame weakness in tacomas above the rear wheels where the rails slant up, it was suppost to be "fixed" after 00 for the facelifted tacos. Its still a problem for 01-04 but supposedly according to toyota not as bad as beforehand.

The front sway bar is also different. Disconnects don't exist for the '01+

Is that weakness something that a little 1/4inch and a welder couldn't fix by boxing the frame? Or is it something that you really don't need to worry about.

It's a weakness (frame) thats NEEDS attention. Without reinforcements, I've personally seen the damage that will occur a couple times.
IMO, the best $90~ that can be spent on a Tacoma:

I'll definitely get some of the DO frame braces... shouldn't be too hard to weld those buggers in. Just picked up an 02 TRD SR5 Xcab... other than the gray wire mod, anything else i need to do/ watch out for? I got a hook up with AEM so I'm not going to bother with the deckplate mod.

If the radio is the same as in my 03, when the radio is on, push and hold the audio control knob/button (the large one on the right hand side) until it beeps. Viola! You now have mid range adjustment, where previously, you could only adjust the bass and hi range. This setting will stay, as long as you shut the radio off before turning off the engine. If you turn the key to "off" without turning the radio off, you'll have to do the whole thing again. I hardly ever forget, anymore, and the sound difference was so noticeable that I decided to not get a new head unit and use the money for something else.
Talk about a cool free mod!

That and I disabled the piezo that beeps when you lock/unlock the doors. That always annoyed me...

up until 2001 the rear leafs were made out of a crapier steel. they started using better steel in 2001. I learned this the hard way.
