Make sure you're using ATF in power steering. Power steering fluid doesn't do well.
And you mentioned you did a box, then you mentioned you replaced the PUMP again.
Box is what moves steering linkage, pump is what assist the box. Or did you do it all?

i started off witha GM pump for my chevy 350 and it done the same thing as now ,, so i replaced the pump thinking i got a bad pump ,, i am using the same gear box from the start ,, now if i hooked the lines up wrong would it work ??,, i can change the fluid and use AFT ,, i would have thought it would steer easier than what it does ,, but i can live with that
thanks
thanks

Toyota does use ATF, at least on my 93... Head over to Amsoil, and enter your truck info and they'll give you all your factory fluid/grease specs.
You should be fine using the standard flush procedure to switch fluids. Empty reservoir w/ baster. Remove low pressure return line. Drop into bucket. Cap reservoir return line nub w/ a clamped hose. Fill reservoir w/ ATF. (If two man job, start vehilce and add fluid to keep reservoir full). If one man, remove the the ignition cable from distributor and let the starter turn over the engine a couple times, 5-10 seconds. Fill up reservoir. Repeat until you're getting out ATF fluid from return hose.
