Hi I was wondering if anyone knows about power steering fluid smelling burnt and there seems to be a slow leak around the power steering pump itself. The fluid is almost full to the top but I drained it the other day and put new in and now a week later it is brownish in color and smells burnt again. Please help. I have a 94' Toyota 4 Runner 4WD. This is my first Toyota truck so im not 100% familiar with them yet. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Are you putting in Power Steering Fluid? Should be tranny fluid. It will say on your cap what you need to put in. As far as leaks, check your hose connections. If that isn't it most likely it is your seals and may need to replace the pump. Find where the leak is first.
