So I may be purchasing another 1992 4runner, but I need advise. The one I am looking into has a 350 swap edelbrock Carb, lockers,350 turbo tran, 4.10 gears, aluminum radiator and electric fan, Bilstien shocks and only 15k on the build sitting on 35's guy is asking 6k or trade and is willing to take my 92 runner with 4" lift on 33's with old 3.0 v6 manual plus 3,000 cash. my question is what should I be looking for in this to make sure everything was done correctly and is it a good trade/price??? the body on it is also in Excellent shape.

Pffft.... A performance built 4x4 with a carb is obsolete junk., IMO.
Shoot, it's gonna be 2017 in a few weeks.
Might be closer to value with EFI. Maybe your truck and $1500.
Why does he want to sell and trade for another 4Runner??

the guy tells me he has invested a lot of money into it, I have not gotten to see it in person yet I am currently at work, but from the looks of the pictures it looks like it is put together nicely. Is it being Carb that bad instead of Fuel Injected and how much would it cost to switch it to fuel injection?? I will post pics of my runner and his runner tomorrow when I am home.

Often times invested money is lost, or wasted.
Most people modify trucks to suit a specific want, or need, that they have, and get their money back in the service that they get from the rig.
First thing you have to realise is that it is'nt really a Toyota any more. It just looks like one at a casual glance.
If you don't think that you could build one like it yourself, you're probably not the best judge of how well it has been put together.
A quick look on Ebay shows some 5.7 Chev EFI kits from around $1000 + plenty labor. Might be able to retrofit factory parts for less, IDK.

Ok well like I said I haven't looked at it in person yet and just was curious if there are specific things to look for on this Particular Swap to see if they have cut corners.

On something like that, if it is what you are wanting, it can be a heck of deal as labor and parts can cost more then what they got into it. Or it can be a money pit that is hacked together. Projects are some of the greatest or worse buys you can get into but you need to know what has been done and if it is in the direction you want to go with it.

I would look for a very detailed wiring diagram!!
Showing every thing wire colors connector pin outs
If not any electrical problems will be a nightmare speaking from first hand experience
Having had to work on one of these Frankenstein trucks even though the mechanical work was as good as could be .
The owner ended up parting it out at a great loss .
In that respect the Carburetor makes things easier
If the seller thinks he can get more then a 1/3 of what it cost to build they are in for a shock
But if this is really what you want why not just buy a Blazer ??
Myself I think your 4Runner plus them pay you $2000.00 would be closer

It doesn't look bad, but I hope you don't plan on DD'ing that thing. It's gonna eat your wallet in many ways. Think the 15mpg sucks with the 3.0? That truck probablyyyyy gets 8mpg on a good day. Guarantee it. Buy yourself a 3.4 and a TRD supercharger with your money. Just my .02

Fuel mileage is not my concern more or less just wanting to make sure it is a even deal, and the build has been done correctly. The new runner would be driven around in a small town and in the mountains. Its not going to be a daily driver to work. I have a 2004 dodge 6 speed 5.9 cummins thats programmed and i get around 21 to 24mpg. My current runner with the 3.slow gets really crappy mileage anyhow haha so it wont make any difference at least the new one i could confidently take to the mountains in the snow

Sounds like you want the runner so if it's worth the trade to you then do it. But good tires and good driver are what get you in to the snow. Lifts and horsepower and big tires can be a handicap in a lot of cases. But the swap looks clean. Did you ever figure out why he ants to go back to a stock rig?
