Popping out of 4hi

I have a 90 truck with a 3in body lift and 3in suspension lift (bought it like that). I first had this problem in the snow. I was told that since I have a body life the body hits the shifter and pops it out of 4hi and into 2wd, can't hear noises when this happens. So can someone please tell me if that's the problem.

-hoping to buy 85 straight axle this week all rebuilt and already has the sas kit for $1000!?

Remove the boot on the shifter and see what clearance there is between the shifter and the floor pan when its in 4-hi.

Take her for a drive and see if there is contact when it pops out of gear.

Might need a bit more floor pan clearancing, might be weak or broken tranny mount allowing movement, or might be internal gear case trouble.

Start by looking.
