I wouldn't.
For one, a 4runner is actually a pretty small rig..
Second off, a 4runner really doesn't have the power to push snow.
Third off, your truck is lifted, or it looks like that from the picture..
In order to run a plow, you need the truck as low to the ground as possible.. Don't ask me why, but lifted rigs never do well plowing.
If you're trying to get into the plowing bidness, i'd recommend a 90's dodge cummins.
4WD of course, and stock.
We have ours fitted with a meyer and it mobs.

If you're just doing your own driveway, you'll be fine. If you like your rig, I'd get a plow only truck-it can really beat a truck to death.

Sorry I can't answer your question, but if it's for personal use, you don't need a 3/4 ton truck with 500 lb-ft of torque(although it would be cool).

If its for personal use, just go get a used 4wd fourwheeler with a small plow on it..
save your balljoints, terod ends, and frame from the abuse.

I just plowed the 18'' that we got here in NH with my 86. I have an older Fisher electric setup. I found it by repeatedly typing "toyota plow" into the craigslist search.

for those doubting the plowability of these trucks, best person on here I can think of to talk to about it is this guy: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...thread-199078/

PM sent.

Keep us posted on your progress. It's awfully nice to plow with the radio and heater on versus sitting out in the blowing snow on a tractor/four wheeler.

No doubt about it for personal use. They do not like being slammed into a snowbank at 15+mph-the snowbank usually wins. My 78 Power Wagon could move back a snowbank, but these trucks can't. I usually need to come in with a tractor that has a bucket to move back the big banks. Otherwise, your driveway ends up shrinking-kind of like my arteries.

I usually can get away with second gear in 4 low for longer runs. Then again, I only have a 6 foot plow with a non-metal (don't know what it is exactly) blade. It also does a great job back-blading loam or hard pack. Plowing is a cakewalk compared to what many guys on here do.

I bet puttin a big ol' weight in the back will get it through that snow bank! just need a little momentum! haha

Not if you saw the tetanus bomb that was my rear frame. I'm amazed that truck held together as long as it did. I got scared when there was too much snow back there...

Yeaaa, be gentle about your plowing with this small truck...plow often to avoid having to push too much weight, but you'd have to do that with a 4wheeler anyhow. If it's no longer a daily, then go for it... now's the time to buy too!! Good luck with your search..if I come across anything I'll post it up.

Plowing with a four wheeler sucks unless you have light snow and a paved/flat surface. My 1973 Simplicity 3410 garden tractor with chains is much more capable-and they can be had on C'list for well under $1000.

I've spent much of today removing my plow frame from the truck it was on. The previous owner bolted and welded it in-fun for me...

The truck gave up the ghost. In late Feb, it was running horribly and blew the seam right out of the muffler. Long story short, upon engine removal I found a pinhole in the block. The rear frame was as bad, as in beyond repair. I've scrapped most of it, held on to the rest (I have 2 other 86s and just bought a 94, so parts can be good to have).

Yesterday I cut the frame off just in front of the control arms. I'll probably have it all off today, just have to finish cutting through the previous owner's weld job. He burned it in all the way down the frame rails. The bolts all came out-thank you Kroil-but I have to pick up some blades and cutting wheels before I can be done.
