I've been driving manual trannies for about 4 years now. It's just so much more workable. On a side note, I actually bought my 4R from a guy and gal from Prescott.

I understand where you were coming from, but it is the Newbie section. I used to always tell people to search and also try to lead them in the right direction with a few thread links, but it became so bad, and in addtion people would get sand in their female parts when you told them to search that I personally dont bother anymore. I never mind a newbie not searching, but once you pass 100 posts you should get hit with infractions.

A couple of places that I (and many others) have had great dealings with are;
www.toyotapartsales.com
www.4x4connection.com

Mine was a solid runner. Started building her up as soon as I got it, the only thing that's been keeping me down is funds. As always.

haha, I know I am harsh but seriously the search function works pretty good and you can even just run the search from google. I search this site like a mutha' (which is why I have a relatively low post count for the years here) and the amount of answers just sitting in the database waiting to be read is outstanding.

It all really just depends on what you want to do and what you're looking to enhance, on the performance side of the 3.0 there is very little. There is armor, there are lockers, lifts. There really is a ton. Just look in the "Check out my truck" section and find what you like.

The best advice I would say is go one step at at time. Go out and see what you need and build your vehicle to suit. I wouldnt worry about an ARB or anything like that until you wreck the original. Your first trip out you may see that you need better tires, next trip maybe some suspension, and etc. Just do the research and take your time.
As a side note, for 2nd gens I really like the Warn bumper for some reason.
