Odd Throttle Response Issue

Odd Throttle Response Issue
Hello, i have a 94 p/u with the ol' 22re and i am having some issues with acceleration...
When i first start the truck its all good. After 1-2 minutes of driving i am getting a bit of lag on the acceleration... However if i put the petal to the metal it seems to be fine...
It is most noticeable on the highway... Unless i have the pedal to the floor i cant seem to even do the speed limit! It seems like there is a hesitation and as soon as i push the pedal down far enough there is a lurch and i am accelerating again...
I thought it may be an ignition problem so i changed the ignition coil, plugs, and plug wires. The distributor cap looked brand new so i didnt change that. But no difference
I thought of checking the fuel filter but it appears as if i don't have one!
I recently bought the truck from a guy who had rebuilt the engine 50,000k ago maybe he didn't put a filter back in? Possibly the injectors?
I have been beating my head against a wall trying to think on what it may be... Possibly a timing issue? Or Fuel delivery... I have no idea, and im not very familiar with the engine so any help would be much appreciated!

Pull the throttle body off and clean it, also check the TPS, sometimes they can go bad and develop a flat spot and cause the problem your having, if its the original TPS with a lot of miles on it, it could just be worn out. And as said above, the fuel filter is under the intake.
