Question Noob Magnaflow Exhaust Question

So,
For the past few weeks I have been reading hundreds of threads on Toyota exhaust options and cannot find exactly what I am looking for.

I have a 93' 4runner 4x4 with the 3.0 V6 and stock exhaust.

The tail pipe is in good shape so I was hoping to keep it and just replace the muffler.

Question 1:
What is the stock pipe size for the 3.0L...2", 1.75"....?????

Its hard to describe the sound I want but I like the "desert prerunner" sound that is throaty and loud but not harsh nor annoying and high pitched. I have read Toyotas are easy to make sound riciey but thats not what I want. From what I have heard, I like the sound of Magnaflow mufflers.

Question 2:
What is the difference between muffler lengths for example 14", 18", 20"?
Would the oval shape give me a more mellow and less "harsh" sound?

Sorry for being a exhaust NOOB thanks for your help!

Stock pipe size is right around 2 1/8th An odd size.

The smaller muffler will be louder. Longer it gets the quieter it gets.

Thanks Jay351,

Does the size change the tone as well? I would think a bigger one would also have a deeper tone.

I'm running a Stainless Magnaflow Part #14225. I got it off Ebay for a pretty good price. It's got a pretty deep tone to it. For the price of the muffler, and the cost of the install at a local exhaust place it's pretty nice. You can probably still look up that number on Ebay and see what I got. Good luck!
