Wait, your shop wanted $500 to pop out the bearing and replace it, or to do the whole job?

I don't think you have to replace the bearing, gnarly, but its one of those things where you just feel better knowing its all been done

no they wanted $500 for the whole job, and i replced the bearing aswell becuase when i took it all apart i found that the old bearing was stupidly lose and wobbly so i figuerd i might as well replace that seeing as i already had it all apart

allot of times what happens is that, the axle seal goes bad and it allows gear oil into the bearing. the oil ends up flushing all the grease out of the bearing, no grease = a bad bearing. so like said above, its usually a good idea to change them both while your in there.

Mine is leaking also. I'm going to do this this weekend. Inner seal, outer seal, bearings...What else will I be needing from the auto parts store?

You'll need some moly grease to pack the bearings with....
