newbie question about mods?

I'm pretty new on this forum and had some questions about some mods. I've never done mods on any vehicle before so I was just curious about them. Some items I was wondering about were such things as throttle body spacer, e-locker, ball joint spacers, and cams? Where have some of you been able to find these items online? I can't find them online or at my local off-road store. I have a 93 v6 automatic toyota pickup.

Whew, some of those topics are actually pretty deep and likely better asked in individual threads.

Engine mods, aside from a good cat-back system and headers, there are as many happy people as there are unhappy ones as far as the money spent Vs. the performance gains of 3.0 engine mods. Search on this and read a bit before you jump. I have a cat-back system, custom from a local shop, and I really like it. It improved MPG and top end power. I intend to do a custom cross-over eliminator in the future. I'm fairly content with my engine so probably won't do cams but many people have said good things about Weazy cams.

Elocker, can be installed, many write ups on this and other forums. It's not a straight bolt in but very close so you won't find it as a buy-able kit at a general 4x4 shop. Actually, you find that little of the good stuff is for sale at the big chains like ORW and 4Wheelparts.

Ball joint spacers, we make them and numerous shops sell them along with other things you'll need for a full lift. I would suggest going to our page, www.sdori.com, and check out the vendors listed there. They will make sure you get everything you need and take much guess work out of lifting your truck.

If you want to start modifying, which most of us do, I'd say start with stating what you want to do with the truck, what type of wheeling, daily driving, etc... that really helps us provide better advice.

I have already put on a K&N FIPK and Venom 400 chip on my truck for a little added horsepower. It will end up not being a daily driver besides maybe a little bit during the winter. It's only 20 miles to work from my house. I was wanting to look at e-locker for it and was also looking at rancho 9000xl shocks with the rcx module so I can adjust them in the cab. I want it mainly for mudding and to go the snow. I'm not to worried about gas mileage. I was wondering if there was anything I could do anything for the transmission? It seems like now I have a hard time getting up any hills going like 65 mph. thanks

The early toyota automatics SUCKED. It is told that swapping in a 5sp will net a good chunk of lost power.

I would make sure you have the correct gearing for your tires first. If you have the money, regear to a taller gear. Since the auto has a pretty good overdrive gear it will work out for hwy cruising.
