Newbie needs help with finding information
hello everybody,
ill start with a brief introduction. I recently have been converted from a Ford man to a Toyota man (by wife wife, shes in love with these things). My last vehicle was a 1999 Ranger and my wife convinced me to finally trade it in and get a 1999 4Runner Limited. Its 4wd, 3.4 engine, got the locking rear, and a new timing belt goes on this wednesday. We would like to keep this vehicle as much of a daily driver as possible, but it will need to get me through some stuff during duck season. Things that I am looking to do are:
1.Lift It
2.Get new front and rear bumpers with a winch on the front
3. Get rocker guards and possibly some skidplates
I can only imagine that the information i need is already in the threads somewhere, so before all i get is people telling me to search, ive tried and still will continue, I am just hoping that someone could put up some links to threads that can help me.
Thanks

there are lots of aftermarket front bumpers to buy out there, such as ARB, TJM, Badlands and many others. you can google those to see what you like. for winch bumpers expect to pay around $750. rear bumpers are hard to come by, the only ones for 3rd gen 4runners that seem to be on the market are tube bumpers. you can find a 4x4 shop and have them custom fabricate one for you. for rocker guards you can go with Trail Gear, that what I have and I love them. I got them for $125 for both. as for skidplates I would check out Budbuilt, they seem to be the brand everyone loves. Too many options for lifts to describe. Good luck!

Not only is his stuff reasonably priced, its very strong, lighter than i expected it to be, and easy to install.
