I have a cople of questions.

How much gear oil does a 1987 4x4 5 speed transmision hold? The guys at the part store say it holds a couple of courts. The Clintoc (whatever its called) Manual says to fill it until it comes out of the top filler hole (passenger side). So I did and it holds about 1 and 1/6 gallons. After I changed the gear M/Trans oil, I checked the transfer case and it was full of freash looking clean oil.

Does the transfer case and Transmision share the same oil?

Also what weight oil can you guys recomend for a 22re with 261,000 (dont know if that is actual engine mileage, only vehicle mileage. Central california 42-100 degrees
