Need some help or ideas

On the lower part of my truck, there is a type of chrome lining. It looks like thick 6-8" strips held on by a rubbery substance. They are almost like kick guards. Anyways, they look like crap and I am going to take them off. My question is, is there a substance like Goo Gone that I could use that won't hurt the clear coat or paint? Or have I answered my own question with Goo Gone?

I would use a heat gun first to make the glue more plyable. Either way the paint will look different due to it not being exposed to the elements.

I do know that if you remove the fender flares there will be 4 to 6 square holes in each fender.

Several suggestions for the future.

Please search as lots of info around on glue remover chemicals and ideas.

Relevant descriptive titles rather than generic "help" ones yield better and faster answers to your questions.

Heat gun to get off. Then use an eraser body wheel. Available at any auto parts store.
