Howdy,
I've got three 2nd generation 4runners, all three runing... some better then others. I'm thinking of pulling the 5-speed tranny & Drive Train out of my 1991 4x4 4Runner and converting it into a 4x2 with Automatic transmission to become my daily driver. I just got done rebuilding the engine in the 91 and it runs strong...))

I know what everyone here thinks about the 3.0 Liter engine
BUT~~~>>>"IT'S PAID FOR"..!!!

I've got a new killer job which will require 70 miles per day~~>>> all freeway.
Plus I've got uses for the spare parts on the other 4Runners.

How much trouble will it be to turn the 91 4x4 4Runner into an Automatic 4x2...???
Will the automatic tranny bolt up.....with it being a standard shift flywheel?
Will I need to swap the ECU unit and add automatic tranny control wiring & connectors.?
What about tranny mounts, cross member(s), drive shaft, U-joints.

Please...any info will be great.
Is there a thread posted on this type of project.
I never seem to have much success doing a search here.
